WORLD SERIES OF POKER
Escalera real flopeada y mesa final: el día de Nacho Barbero en Bahamas
El Team Pro de ACR Poker vivió una de esas manos que se dan pocas veces en la vida y encima en un torneo en el que quedó 7º.
The road to the fifth stop for the eighth season of the PokerStars.net Latin American Poker Tour Uruguay has been a clear example of how much this, the most important Latinamerican tour, has grown in these last few years. It is also evidenced by the number of great American, Canadian and European players who are already turning their heads towards the Latin series.
A big part of the attraction for said players was probably the first stop in the season: The Bahamas (during the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure). An event that gathered together 736 players, creating a $1,945,248 pot and saw American Josh Kay be crowned the winner at a final table where both, Martin Finger and Jose Carlos García , two greats at the European Poker Tour, also sat.
With a feeling of wounded pride after being unable to have any of its members sitting at the Bahamas FT, the Latin team tried to get back its lost honor during the second stop for the season. It was Chilean Óscar Alache who pulled it off, taking $131,962 for an event with 410 entrants and a $904,460 pot.
Everything seemed to be back to normal, however the foreign participants had other plans in mind and they went full speed ahead against the Latinamerican team. It was Canadian Shakeeb Kazemipur who defeated a 422 player field to take home $4180,112 (sic) out of the $930,932 pot.
The fourth stop led us to Peru where the scoreboard leveled once more, thanks to the title that Chilean Claudio Moya took, along with $135,576 at an event that rounded 366 entrants for prize pot of $807,396.
We can’t fail to mention female participation during the eighth season, with Brazilian Renata Teixeira and Olga Iermolcheva finishing second at the Main Event. The player for the green and yellow flag, fell to Alache at the LAPT 8, Chile; while the pretty Ukrainian fell to the hands of Kazemipur at the LAPT 8, Panama, tying as the better placing female players in the history of the series.
CodigoPoker, Official Media Partner of the LAPT, will be at the Enjoy Conrad Resort & Casino as of Friday to bring you all the exclusive details of a day that promises to be spectacular. Our own are ready, but players like Jakub Kuryan ,Patrick Mahoney , Bryan Oliver or Sam Chartier are for sure ready to go head to head.
