Patrik Antonius lo hizo: arrasó y se llevó €2 millones del EPT Montecarlo
El finés ganó el €100K Super High Roller y consiguió uno de los mejores cobros de su carrera. Su último título del EPT había sido en 2005.
The World Poker Tour has a new champion. This Tuesday, Aaron Mermelstein reached the maximum title at the opening of the WPT Maryland Live and with his triumph, he pocketed a cheque for $ 250,222.
The tournament was played at the Maryland Live Casino, in Maryland, United States, and thanks to the 337 entrants, who paid $ 3,500, a pot was created for $1,078,099, divided among 36 prizes.
One of the highlights at the FT, was seeing the former champion of the 2012 WSOP, Greg Merson; however, it was Mermelstein who dominated beginning to end in this last stage.
The heads-up started with Aaron ahead against Xin “Tom” Wang (152BB vs 47BB) and only twenty or so hands were enough to close the deal. The final play came when Wang opened 2x, Mermelstein went all in with 6 6 and Xin called with A 8. The community cards were: K 9 7 Q 5 giving the WPT championship to Aaron.
With this win, Mermelstein took the second WPT. He got the first one last January at the WPT Borgata Winter Poker Open, where he took a prize worth $ 712,305.
Here are the results for the final table:
1°: Aaron Mermelstein $ 250,222
2°: Xin “Tom” Wang $ 164,765
3°: Andjelko Andrejevic $ 105,981
4°: Greg Merson $ 78,449
5°: Cate Hall $ 58,589
6°: Ken Holmes $ 47,091
The action for the WPT moves to South Africa where the WPT Emperors Palace Poker Classic will be played on October 23rd. If you want more information about the World Poker Tour, you can click on the following LINK
