The second stop of the Peter’s Poker Tour at Malecon Palace Casino in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic Flag of República Dominicana has come to an end and altough there were many familiar faces the champion was brand new. Luis Perez Flag of Venezuela won the event and returned home with $112,560 dollars.

The second stop registered 336 entries for a $490,950 prizepool but the organization guaranteed half a million dollars. Perez started Day 3 as the chip leader with only 18 players remaining but the final table arrived fast when most of them got eliminated.

Cristian Fernandez Flag of Venezuela was the first player eliminated from the tournament when he crashed against Vahlis’ pocket 7 7. In eight place was eliminated Day 1C chip leader Jorge Pirela Flag of Venezuela followed by Jorge Vahlis Flag of Venezuela who cashed $17,675 for his seventh place.

Perez eliminated Ruben Suarez Flag of Venezuela when his Q 5 defeated Ruben’s A K when a Q showed at the flop. With five players remaining, Gustavo Paredes Flag of Venezuela announced his all-in for 400,000 chips called by Zeman who defeated Gustavo.

Jarold Espinoza Flag of Venezuela left the tournament in fourth place when his A K couldn’t defeat Luis’ pocket 8 8. The board didn’t help Jarold who returned home with a $36,085 prize. A few hands later Luis destroyed Luis Mata’s Flag of Venezuela dreams when his pocket 6 6 defeated Mata’s K Q.

The heads-up match started with a difference of only 700,000 chips but after two hours Perez open to 135,000 raised by the Chilean to 360,000 chips. Peres raised to 1,100,000 chips and Zeman announced his all-in for 2,400,000 chips.

Board showed  8 2 5 10 -qh-to give Luis the win and the championship while Zeman finished as runner-up of the Peter’s Poker Tour.
