After announcing the teams that will be competing in the first season of the Global Poker League. The Global Poker Index announced the compensations that the players will have for participating.

They will get paid $100 dollars per hour. This salary will increase 50% for the second season. They will also compete for the $100,000 dollar prizepool. They will also receive a cut of the revenues generated from licensing agreements, merchandising and sponsorship deals.

Team managers will draft eligible players on February 25. The draft will consist of three round and team managers will announce their wildcard selections two weeks after the draft.
