Negreanu-755x503-755x503 foto 1Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu Flag of Canadá wrote a new post on his blog in Full Contact Poker. This time the Canadian player forgot about poker hands, EV or standar deviation. This time Negreanu wrote about the arrogance that some players show at the tables.

Negreanu start by saying he won’t judge anyone. He acctually accepts sometimes he has been arrogant because in his opinion, players have to be a little arrogant.

He writes about super high roller events. In a 40-50 player field only a handful could be categorized as recreational players. A professional poker player has to believe that he ranks somewhere in the top 10. That is mathematically impossible.

He also writes about young online players. A 24 year-old boy that is now a millionaire thanks to his intellinge and skills. They have to be arrogant to believe thy can be high stakes players. Is it right to be arrogant? Is it wrong? Is it normal? What do you think?

Negreauniu gives some tips about interacting with other players while playing:

«What is the message you think the person is trying to get across to you? If you were the one who wrote this message, what was your intention when you wrote it? Was it to educate the poster, or was it designed to make them feel small and you superior? Was it simply a need to be “right” and make the other person wrong? Last question: do you think this is an effective way to communicate your thoughts and ideas?»
