Inicio > Remembering Railbird: Quads and money for Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies

Coming out a day late (Zumba slept in yesterday), we bring you today’s “Remembering Railbird”, a section that just for one second takes you back in time to the golden years of online poker. Those years when young people, just coming out of puberty, would sit at the Full Tilt cash tables with hundreds of thousands of dollars and battle it out to the death!

On this day, Finnish Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies  makes his triumphant debut- we had never mentioned him before, alas the «the triumphant debut»part- in our column. A different player, with an approach to the game that’s much more instinctive than mathematical, and who displays quite the arsenal of moves, usually, under the influence of some alcoholic beverage. His opponent? The  “Tiger Woods” of poker, Phil Ivey . The game: Pot Limit Omaha, of course. The hand: a horrible cooler, although this two go forward for much, much less…

In spite of playing these millionaire pots, they are both great friends. They hang out and everything. In fact, they must have so many nights together that Ilari does the perfect Phil impression. Or at least that’s what the rest of the table thinks.
