Andrew Boccia finished Day 1A of the 2016 Punta Cana Poker Classic Main Event as chip leader after ten levels of play. The Las Vegas resident bagged 187,000 chips and is followed by Eduardo Calti -dr- who bagged 170,200 chips.
Among the returning players will be Dorian Rios (164,500), Francis Cruz

(65,300). Big names such as Doug Polk
and Faraz Jaka
failed on their attempt to advance to Day 2 but will have the chance to return tomorrow.
The first day of action registered 260 entries breaking the previous record of 249 entries but only 78 of the, advanced. Tomorrow players that didn’t advance will get the chance to try it again while the players that advance will have the opportunity to enjoy everything that Punta Cana and The Level has to offer.

We are just two hands away from the end of Day 1A of the 2016 Punta Cana Poker Classic Main Event. Don’t go away because in a few minutes we will have the best moments from the first day of action here at Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
The player under the gun raised to 2,500 called by Elliot Peterman on middle position, the player on the CO and Andrew Boccia
on the big blind. The flop came 9 6 10 good for a 7,000 bet from Boccia called by the player under the gun and Elliot.
Turn was a 3 good for a 24,000 bet from Boccia called by Elliot. River was an A and Boccia announced his all-in for 62,000 called by Elliot. Boccia showed a 8 7 to win the pot.

The turn was a 3 checked by both players. The river was a 10 good for a 4,000 bet from the BTN called by Dominguez who won the hand thanks to his A J.
The player on the CO raised to 2,000 re-raised to 4,400 by Jorge de Oliveira from the BB re-raised all-in for 68,000 by the player on the CO. Jorge tanked but called after five minutes.
