Day 1B of the 2016 Punta Cana Poker Classic left us with Ron Morandini as chip leader with a 244,500 stack. The second day of action registered 208 entries but at the end of ten levels only 83 would advance to Day 2 at the Meliá Caribe Tropical in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
Big names such as Doug Polk (52,500), Faraz Jaka
(47,800), Jose Ignacio Barbero
(49,300), Alberto Meran
(142,200), Joshua Beckley
(91,700) and Humberto Brenes
(39,600) made it through and will return in a few hours
On the other hand, players like Georgios Sotiropoulos , Camilo Zuluaga
, Savannah Farmer
and Luis Perez
had a rough start and couldn’t advance. Players that didn’t made it through will have the chance to play some of the side events the festival has to offer.
A grand total of 176 players will return for Day 2 of the PCPC Main Event. Third day of action will kick-off at 02:00 with ten levels of play before we meet the survivors that will return for Day 3.

We have the final numbers of Event #8 PLO where 19 players registered creating a $10,476 prizepool. Three prizes will be awarded with the champion taking home $5,236 while the runner-up will cash $3,145 and the third place will return with $2,095.

The board was 6 5 10 3 K and Jorge Espinoza bet 4,000 called by the player on the BB. Jorge showed an A K to win the hand while his rival mucked.
We are back for the last two levels of Day 1B at the 2016 Punta Cana Poker Classic Main Event. Players will have to battle for 80 more minutes before bagging and tagging for Day 2.

Turn was a K and Faraz fired 4,800 called by Marcelo. River was a 9 and Faraz bet 7,900 called by Marcelo with A Q against Jaka’s A 5.
The player under the gun raised to 1,700 called by Joshua Beckley from the BB. Flop was 8 4 2 where Beckley check-called a 2,400 bet made by his rival. Both players checked the J turn and Beckley bet 2,400 on a K to win the pot.

on middle position and the player on the CO. The BB announced a raise to 4,000 called by Polk only. Flop was J 6 3 and the BB bet 3,100 called by Polk. Turn was a 7 where the BB checked and Polk bet 6,700 to win the pot.
The player under the gun raised to 1,700 and Chris Cunliffe called from the BB. Flop came 8 5 7 and Chris donked 2,400 called by his rival.
Turn was a- 8h- checked by both players but when the K showed up in the river, Chris announced his all-in for 13,700 chips. The player under the gun thought about it for almost five minutes before folding.
The player under the gun limped as well as the player on middle position until Steven Thompson raised to 1,200 and the player on middle position raised to 10,200. Thompson seemed a little bit shocked by this and folded his cards.
Josh Beckley raised to 1,450 called by Mauricio Herrero on the small blind. Flop came 8 4 -3c-and Josh bet 1,600 called by his rival. Turn was a 4 checked by both players.
Mauricio bet 4,100 on a 9 river and won the pot when Josh folded.
Faraz Jaka is back at tabel 9 seat 6 trying to advance to Day 2 of the 2016 Punta Cana Poker Classic Main Event but his task won’t be easy with Doug Polk
