Amaya Inc. has announced that from now on, it will limit its StarsDraft offer, their daily fantasy sports (DFS) website where you can play with real money, after recent events in the United States. Players who took part in the StarsDraft leagues will be able to withdraw their funds without any inconveniences should they wish to do so.
Previously, Amaya had requested that DFS games were included within the scope of legal regulations in order to protect players. And that is why they have decided to cancel its launch in states like Michigan as well as pulling out of Florida and Nevada after both states remarked the importance of DFS sites having a legitimate gaming license.
Daily Fantasy Sports sites have become really popular in the last few years, so much so, that they have signed agreements with the NFL and the MLB. However, they suffered a terrible blow last week when it was revealed that a DraftKings employee had published valuable information before winning a league for $350,000 at the FanDuel site.
This unfolding of events made it known that DraftKings employees can participate in FanDuel leagues and viceversa, a situation that, while it does not violate internal statutes for the company, has raised some serious doubts with regards to security measures provided by the sites when it comes to managing clients’ personal information.
