Day 1A of the 2017 Punta Cana Poker Classic is on the books. The first flight of the event registered 233 entries but at the end of the day only 93 would remain. Lucas Smith finished on top of the counts with a 191,000 stack while reigning champion, Eduards Kudrjavcevs
finished with 140,000 chips.

The surviving players will come back this Friday for Day 2 of the Main Event. Day 1B will start at 16:00 where we will meet the second batch of players that will fight for the title.
The organization has announced that only four more hands will be played before bagging and tagging. Don’t go away and meet the first batch of players that will return next Friday for Day 2.
Horacio Castillo has been eliminated from the tournament. Castillo shoved his last 14,000 chips with ace-queen and his rval called with pocket kings. The board didn’t help the Argentinian who will try again tomorrow.
Jeff Gross has been eliminated from the Main Event. He was trying to double his stack but failed to do so. He will have the chance to try again tomorrow.
The Dominican Republic has lost two of its own. Alberto Meran and Francis Cruz
have been eliminated from the 2017 Punta Cana Poker Classic Main Event. Both of them will have another chance tomorrow at 16:00

re-raised to 7,700. The action came back to Scasso who called.
The flop was an A 9 3 where Chris c-bet 4,700 and Martin folded. Before mucking his hand, Chris showed an A.
Eduards Kudrjavcevs has a huge stack. In his second bullet, the Latvian player has a 120,000 stack. The young European changed his strategy and wants the lead of Day 1A.
The board was 10 8 6 and Chris Hunichen was all-in with pocket A A. His rival had a 10 8 for two pairs. The turn was a 9 and the river a 2 to eliminate Big Huni.
The Argentinian player Julio Belluscio is out from the Main Event. He was looking for a good spot but he crashed while trying it.
Bolivar Palacios has been eliminated from the Main Event. The Panamanian player was trying to double his stack but couldn’t survive tha attacks from his rivals.
The board showed a 9 3 K A and Francis Cruz checked from the big blind. Ron Morandini
bet 9,400 and Cruz called.
The turn was a 10 and Morandini bet 20,000 to win the pot.
The flop was J 3 2 and Mikel Roman checked from the BB. The player under the gun also checked but the player in middle position bet 3,500, Bartolo Belluscio
called but Mikel re-raised to 12,800 and took the pot down.
The player on early position raised to 1,800, called by the player in middle position and Chris Hunichen on the CO.
The flop was Q Q 8 and the player in middle position bet 2,500. Both his rivals called and a J showed up in the turn. The three of them checked and the river was a 5.
The action came to «Big Huni» who bet 8,000 to take down the pot.
Canadian player Francois Lincourt announced his all-in for 23,000 points and the BB called.
